Candeno is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Data & BI)!

We’re looking for a proficient, forward-thinking Senior Software Engineer (Data & BI) to take ownership of our data and BI setup and contribute broadly to our SaaS platform. You’ll be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable solutions that support both internal decision-making and customer needs.  

You will 💡  As a Senior Software Engineer (Data & BI) at Candeno, you’ll join a growing Product team and work closely with product managers, product designers, and fellow engineers. Reporting to our CTO or Tech Lead, you’ll combine hands-on software development with responsibility for our Data & BI landscape. You’ll take ownership of how data is structured, processed, and presented - ensuring it’s reliable, secure, and genuinely helpful. 

You will also: 

Software Development: 

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance applications for the Candeno SaaS platform. 
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices. 
• Implement new features and enhancements in line with product requirements and user feedback. 
• Test, debug, and ensure high software quality and reliability. 

Data & BI Ownership: 

• Take full ownership of Candeno’s Data & BI setup and drive its continued development. 
• Design and maintain data models, warehouses, and BI structures (e.g., Star Schema, data cubes, Bronze/Silver/Gold layers). 
• Ensure data consistency, reliability, and accessibility across the organisation. 
• Act as the go-to person for everything related to data & BI. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

• Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions. 
• Participate in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback. 
• Communicate clearly with customers and partners about data warehouse setups, data models, and integrations. 

System Optimisation, Security & Compliance: 

• Monitor and optimise application and data performance. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. 
• Ensure software and data solutions meet security standards and relevant compliance requirements. 

Mentorship and Leadership: 

• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development. 
• Lead by example, demonstrating strong engineering and data practices. 

You are 💙  We’re looking for someone who enjoys combining technical depth with collaboration and ownership. You’re comfortable taking responsibility, explaining complex topics clearly, and building solutions that support real users and decisions. We’re also looking for someone with: 

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a proven track record in software engineering. 
• 5+ years of experience in software development, ideally within SaaS environments. 
• Experience with PHP, Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript. 
• Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus). 
• A strong understanding of modern Data & BI concepts, including data warehousing and modelling. 
• Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Strong English communication skills (Danish or Swedish is a bonus). 
• The ability to work onsite at our Aarhus Office.   

Your way to success 🚀 

Within the first month: 

• Get familiar with Candeno’s platform, software architecture, BI setup, and development processes. 
• Take ownership of smaller development tasks and bug fixes. 
• Build strong working relationships across the organisation. 

 Within three months: 

• Lead the development of key features and technical improvements. 
• Actively contribute to code reviews, optimisation, and performance improvements. 
• Take full ownership of Candeno’s BI setup and data structures. 

 Within six months: 

• Influence architectural and data-related decisions across the platform. 
• Be recognised as the internal go-to person for Data & BI. 
• Mentor junior engineers and help shape best practices across the team.
